This project requires making marketing materials for exhibiting artist Martin Puryear.

Puryear is a American sculptor, known for his abstract yet approachable forms that blends modernist ideas with traditional craft. Working primarily in wood, metal and stone, he maintains deep respect for material and craft.

My approach highlights Puryear’s organic forms and natural color palette, while introducing an unexpected moment — a sharp cut within a natural shape.

This contrast reflects his balance of traditional materials with modern abstraction, echoing the way his work transforms familiar craft into contemporary sculpture.
